Research

The Research within CELS is focused on using simulation to optimize the delivery of healthcare. Our work involves collaboration with healthcare educators, systems and industrial engineers, organizations psychologists, communication scientists, patient safety experts, and frontline clinicians. We welcome collaboration with junior and senior faculty interested in using simulation to extend their work and build important areas of research and scholarship.

Funding

CELS research has been funded by grants from the Department of Defense, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality and the University of Florida Clinical Translational Science Institute.

There are additional requirements for simulation training that includes research.  Please complete the research form and schedule a time to discuss with our research director, Rose Fernandez.  Given the additional requirements for research, simulation projects that include research need to be submitted as early as possible and at a minimum 2 months prior to the anticipated start of the project. (Two months may not be sufficient lead time depending on the project, IRB status and resources required. Investigators are urged to submit the required form and meet with Dr. Fernandez as early as possible.)
